WHAT: Get involved in this full week of tackling tough issues in our community through volunteerism. Have fun and make a difference! Days will begin in the United Way conference room where campers will learn about themselves and the community. Each day, campers will complete at least one volunteer project in the morning and then a second project after lunch. All participants will have a chance to reflect upon their experiences and log their service hours towards completion of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Drop-off & pick-up is at United Way of Northwest Georgia, 816 S Thornton Ave. Dalton, GA 30720. Campers will be transported by bus to the project locations. 
 
REGISTRATION: May 1st -23rd. Registration should include a one paragraph “Purpose Statement” written by the camper about why they want to attend this camp. Campers will be selected based on the merit of the Purpose Statement. Confirmations will be sent out starting the 2nd week in May.  May 25, 2008 is the absolute last day to register. Open to: 13- 18 year-olds
 
COST: $30 per camper plus $20 registration fee which must accompany this form. Cost covers: camp t-shirt, lunches & snacks, project materials, transportation to the project sites, and professional leadership.  Camperships are available based on need. Those interested in applying for a campership should also include a 500 word essay entitled “How I can make a difference in my community” with their application.  All fees, minus the $20 registration fee are refundable before May 25th. Cancellations must be in writing and received by May 25th to be eligible for a refund. No refund will be issued for late arrival or dismissal.
