Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 28, 2009 |
Volunteers are needed to help catalogue the military and community memorabilia for the Armory's museum facet. This entails making a list, making it detailed and complete, and saving it in file form. Additionally, pictures with a digital camera shall be taken of the various artifacts to coordinate with the listing. Film and camera will be provided.
Patient and careful adults are requested since artifacts are often one-of-a-kind (i.e., the uniform of Brigadier General Elliott R. Thorpe who saw the signing of the World War I Peace Treaty in Versailles and the surrender of the Japanese in World War II on the USS Missouri -- his uniform is the only one of his remaining in the world). Knowledge of word-processing is essential. This opportunity is sponsored by: Westerly Armory Restoration, Inc.
