Help to empower Adults with Developmental Disabilities! If you have ever wanted to make a difference in another person's life, this is a great opportunity. Volunteer to help teach vocational skills to adults with special needs in a sheltered workshop. Work tasks to teach in this positive environment include mailing, assembly/production and structured activities. Help foster independence and watch the pride grow as work skills expand. Volunteers may also assist in community integration outings, Job Club, and a Self Advocacy Club. Volunteers are needed anytime Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30 and may stay for all or part of the day. We are looking for someone who is creative, patient, and empowering. All volunteers will be given a tour of our facility and an orientation to the program that lasts about an hour and a half. A handbook and a description of volunteer duties will be provided. Training will be provided as needed. We also ask that volunteers successfully complete a criminal records check.
