The Instructor actively promotes and organizes Driver Safety Program classes and conducts them in accordance with AARP Driver Safety Program national office guidelines and AARP class material. Responsibilities -- Presents AARP Driving Safety Courses -- Actively promotes classes via sponsors associated with communities, churches, hospitals, Etc among the 50 and older population. -- Organizes classes through active recruitment, pre course preparation, scheduling and arranging of classroom facilities. -- Accepts teaching assignments, when necessary, from the State Coordinator. -- Recruits Instructor candidates from class participants and other sources. -- Attends workshops and other meetings as required. -- Submits appropriate reports in a timely manner, at the conclusion of each class, to the national office. Provides information as requested by the State Coordinator or Assistant State Coordinator. -- Keeps the State Coordinator informed regarding scheduling of new classes, sponsorship promotion, recruitment and other program activities. -- Actively recruits and involves diverse populations in program activities. -- Promotes AARP’s priorities and goals.
Qualifications -- Demonstrated competence in helping older adults learn. -- The ability to work well with diverse populations. -- Commitment to the goals and priorities of AARP. Term of Service and Length of Service: One year with option by supervisor to renew as appropriate. Training Required -- Orientation to AARP -- Driver Safety Course completion -- Instructor training and annual in-service workshops.
Travel required: State and local travel as required Supervisor: Assistant State Coordinator Available Resources -- AARP will provide volunteer travel accident insurance and comprehensive general liability insurance while performing volunteer responsibilities. Expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with AARP policies.

- Next light, take left onto Johnson Road (Rte 9) and proceed for about 1 mile. (go through 3 lights) After the 2nd light, the road becomes Congress Street (Rte 22)
- Continue on Congress Street until you see a large yellow/tan building on your left, across from the water. The Stroudwater Crossing sign will be out front. Park anywhere. AARP office is located on the first floor to your left as you come in the front door.
