Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Candlelighters has provided a free weekend retreat for children with cancer and their families in Southern Arizona every year since 1985. In 2010, our summer our camp will be held at the Huachuca Oaks Baptist Camp in Hereford, Arizona.

Your help is needed to make camp a fun and relaxing place. We would love help playing with children, leading hikes or craft activities, playing sports or music. Do you have something special you could offer at camp? Possible examples include: knot-tying instruction, storytelling, guitar-playing, foot massage, etc.

Activities for the kids include indoor arts and crafts, board games and puzzles, and outdoor activities such as a group hikes.

We never charge families to attend camp, and we rely on volunteers and donations to make this wonderful experience possible.

Candlelighters volunteers are required to attend a 2-hour training. Our next training will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 10:00 am until 12:00pm. Call Candlelighters at 777-4911 for more information or to reserve your spot.
