Administrative support of the volunteer program and community outreach. Work Hours: 1700 hours within 1 year (until December 31, 2012)* *some evenings for Volunteer Trainings and occasional weekends for events Compensation: Stipend and educational award for eligible candidates Administrative Supervisor: Community Outreach Coordinator/Volunteer Coordinator DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Community Education a. Assist with development and presentation of educational programs about abuse, prevention, and agency services in the county. b. Assist with development and presentation of information about abuse, prevention, and agency services in the county. Community Outreach a. Attend tabling events to raise awareness of abuse and agency services b. Disseminate information through printed materials and networking with individuals, schools, businesses, and other agencies in the county. Recruitment for/Management of Volunteer Opportunities a. Post volunteer opportunities on relevant websites/write press releases about training b. Attend tabling events to network and recruit volunteers c. Create welcome packets for people interested in attending training d. Communicate with program departments on volunteer projects and time-lines e. Develop and coordinate service projects for groups and students Support for 80 Hour Volunteer Training a. Update the volunteer training manual, as needed, to make sure it is current b. Attend trainings to take attendance and evaluation, as well as provide support to speakers when necessary c. Set course schedule, as necessary Management of Volunteer Involvement a. Update and maintain the existing volunteer list b. Track volunteer hours and log them into a database c. Manage volunteer files d. Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to plan special events for volunteers e. Track volunteer birthdays and terms of service for acknowledgments
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- BA degree
- Completion of 80-Hour Agency Training on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence
- Ability to self-direct
- Strong organizational skills
- Volunteer experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of data entry and database management
- Clear a criminal history background check
Must also complete NJCASA/AMERICORP orientation on SEPTEMBER 28, 2011
