Help low-income workers on the path to gain financial stability by volunteering for free tax preparation services. It's easy and rewarding. Training is free and you do not need prior experience or an accounting background. Free tax preparation services provide personal income tax form preparation for middle- and low-income wage earners. There is a need for Tax Counselors who assist individuals with the preparation of their tax returns in accordance with the guidelines established by the IRS. In addition to the Tax Counselors, greeters are also needed. Greeters welcome individuals and review their paperwork prior to meeting with Counselors. A Local Coordinator is also needed for tax sites. The Local Coordinator recruits, appoints, ensures adequate training, supervises and evaluates Counselors (tax preparers).
Training is required and will be provided free for all positions. This opportunity is sponsored by: AARP Tax-Aide/United Way Free Tax Preparation
