AADP is a non-profit service organization whose goal is to increase community awareness concerning the need for minority bone marrow/stem cell donors, and ultimately help save the lives of patients with fatal blood diseases such as lymphoma or leukemia. Every day 6,000 patients are searching for their life saving match, and because matching is dependent on race and ethnicity, it is more than likely that a patient will find a match from someone who has a similar racial/ethnic background. With the minority population only representing 25% of the 7 million volunteer donors on the National Registry, it is very difficult for a patient of minority descent to find their match. By holding marrow/stem cell drives all over Northern California, AADP is able to outreach to the minority community about the critical need for a better representation on the national registry. Join us in our mission to help give patients a second chance at life!
People of all races, ethnicities and ages are encouraged to volunteer with AADP. You must have a means to go to and from drives. Formal training is available upon request. This opportunity is sponsored by: AADP - Asian American Donor Program
