Volunteer Opportunity Details:

GENERAL PURPOSE:
The volunteer staff member acts as part of the Hospice team, providing service to the patient and/or family through companionship and supportive care.

The volunteer may also provide hospice support services such as:
public relations,
events
communications,
and/or administrative support to the office staff.

• Every Friday is Java Friday, come in for a cup of Joe, donuts, and a chance to mingle with everyone here at the office!
• We provide arts and crafts, and an array of other activities for you to do when you are providing patient care; prepared and ready to go for your convience.
• We provide a journal to reflect on your experiences through Hospice of the Sandias, and to help guide you through your journey.
• We provide ongoing training.
• We also provide monthly activites that allow you to meet other volunteers, feedback, and incentives!

All of our personnel here have submitted to a TB test, background check, and to a drug screening. This is for the patient’s safety as much as it is for personnel’s safety. We are thankful that you understand what it takes to offer quality care to our patients, their families, and how important it is to uphold their trust.
