Volunteers needed to assist Home Health United nursing staff with East Apartments resident foot care clinic twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursday morning, 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Volunteers will provide important assistance for nursing staff and East residents in helping staff with set-up and clean-up before and after the clinic, fill plastic basins for foot soaks for residents who have appointments to come in to the clinic, also help residents remove/put on hosiery/shoes, record payment and/or make future appointments as needed during the time of the clinic. Volunteers need to have physical ability to bend and lift (10 lbs. maximum) and provide good customer service in working cooperatively and courteously with the Home Health United nursing staff and Oakwood East residents. Volunteers are able to receive free foot care at the end of clinics whenever it can be conveniently arranged between volunteers and Home Health United nursing staff.
Required application and interview with Oakwood Village Volunteer Services Coordinator for registration and screening purposes to be considered for placement. Orientation and training provided by Volunteer Services Coordinator and Oakwood Village East Apartments Events and Activities Coordinator and/or East Apartments RCP Program Director for volunteers upon placement. Oakwood Village East is located at 5565 Tancho Drive, near American Family Insurance Headquarters, in the vicinity of Hwy. 151 and I-90/94. From Hwy. 151, take the American Parkway exit and following American Parkway to Tancho Drive. Turn right onto Tancho and immediately turn left into the Oakwood Village East main entrance. Oakwood East is accessible by car only at this time. |
