Volunteer Opportunity - First Step Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Volunteers visit new mothers at Hamilton Medical Center and provide a baby developmental calender, parenting information, and local community resource guide. Volunteers and staff follow up by phone contact for the next 3 months. Community Volunteers ranging in ages from 18 to 80 on a weekly basis by visiting the Hospital to see new moms. They spend time talking with the mother about issues she may face as a new parent. They offer the services of the First Steps program to follow up with them on a bi-monthly basis with phone call contacts.

Must be 18 years of age and a " People Skills Person". A reference check is required. Orientation training (3 hours) must be completed. There is a monthly in-service meeting.
