Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on January 30, 2010 |
The event draws usually any where from 80-180 volunteers. That will collect litter and trash from road sides, wooded areas, marshlands, beaches or a cemetery. There are team captains that are familiar with the locations. After completing a registration form for each participant, volunteers will be matched up to drive or carpool to a cleanup up site, usually within a 3 mile radius. There they will use bags supplied by the coalition, to pick up litter and place bags in one location. Where it will be inventoried & picked up later by municipal workers. This is a great opportunity for family's to share an experience to help clean our mother earth. The event can be rewarding and educational for all age groups. Come be one of many repeat volunteers that care for this watershed. This event has many different locations. Each site has very different terrain. No special training is involved. Participants are best to come prepared to work in possibly wet, muddy, wooded where there may be thorns, flat ground & hilly slopes and beaches. Wear good foot protection, bring work gloves, although we do provide some. This opportunity is sponsored by: Buckeye Brook Coalition
