Provo Parks Dept offers many opportunities for potential eagle scouts to fulfill their project requirement with Provo City. In the past projects have ranged from planting trees to painting bathrooms to building trails. There are many projects in the city that eagle scouts are invited to explore. For more information on available projects be sure to contact the Volunteer Services Coordinator. Although there are many opportunities for eagle scout projects, scouts are encouraged to come up with their own unique project idea by exploring the parks and talking to the Volunteer Services Coordinator about current project needs. This opportunity is sponsored by: Provo Parks and Recreation

Overall Experience

Soccer Goals!!
 |
I was a volunteer coach for a ten and eleven year old girls soccer team. Provo Parks and Recreation was very accomodating. They provided the soccer balls and cones for practice. The soccer referee was always on time and fair. A packet of information including a rule book, schedule, roster, and practice ideas was provided.
The Recreation department was so supportive that it made it easy to coach. I didn't have to worry about the details and so could focus my efforts on the team. I enjoyed getting to know the girls as their coach and friend. I learned a lot about soccer, team sports, and good sportsmanship. I will definitely volunteer with the Provo Parks and Rec in the near future! posted by BrittneyLosee on October 28, 2005 |
