Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Swedish massage is the most requested forms of Compassionate Touch at Evergreen Hospice. One of the many ways dying patients feel isolated from the world going on around them is the loss of touch they experience because of their disease. Depending on their disease they may be contracted and stiff and all they want is for someone to rub their shoulders, neck and back. For patients who often spend most of their days immobile and in a recliner or bed, massage volunteers can provide compassionate hands on touch, relaxation, a sense of well being, emotional health and a state of balance. Volunteers complete a comprehensive training so they feel comfortable and are supported by the hospice team and volunteer coordinators.

Complete application, background check, training, placement interview, and orientations, as necessary.
Complete health clearance, including TB test, after completion of training.
Provide proof of license and current liability/malpractice insurance as required.
The minimum age for this opportunity is 18 years old.

This is the mailing address for Evergreen Hospice Services. The training will be at our inpatient hospice center near Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland and volunteer opportunities are available at the hospice center, our administrative offices, and throughout King and Snohomish Counties.
