Volunteer Opportunity - Nature Teaching Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on September 15, 2011

Teach children about nature in their world. Most programs involve taking small groups on a hike along one or more trails at the Nature Center or in other Milwaukee County Parks. Groups are at the Center Tuesdays mornings and afternoons, Wednesday through Friday mornings. This opportunity is for people who enjoy working with children and being outdoors in all kinds of weather. Training is available seasonally. Teaching volunteers sign up to help when they are interested and available. This could be for one day a week or once a month or more or less.

Volunteers must be capable of walking, standing, kneeling, carrying equipment and talking for long periods of time in the outdoors in all kind of weather conditions. Being patient and having good teaching skills with children are essential. You are required to attend training sessions when they are offered.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Wehr Nature Center
