Our mission is to assist senior citizens of Waikiki to live independently with the support of Friendly Neighbors volunteers. Friendly Neighbors program services are available to anyone 60 and over in Waikiki seeking assistance. Friendly Neighbor services are provided free of charge. Friendly Neighbors respects the diversity and individuality among senior citizens. Volunteers provide a variety of services in order to meet the unique needs of our seniors assisting them to remain living independently. Examples of services provided by Friendly Neighbors: friendly visits, companionship and socialization, shopping escort, light housework, meal preparation, phone call reassurance, respite care, & assisting clients with referrals for other services.
We request that our volunteers commit to a minimum 12 weeks of service with our Friendly Neighbors Program. Volunteers are registered, screened with a criminal record background check and provided a brief training prior to being assigned to a client. This opportunity is sponsored by: Waikiki Health Center - HI - Honolulu
