The Mission of the Young Women's Resource Center is to support, educate and advocate for young women as they experience life's challenges.

Description:
The YWRC serves young women ages 11-21 throughout central Iowa. The Young Women’s Resource Center offers 13 programs providing Prevention Services and Perinatal Services. Prevention programs cover topics of self-esteem, body image, relationships, reproductive health, physical and sexual abuse, and education. Perinatal programs include: Childbirth Education, Young Moms Support Groups, the Doula Program, Little Passenger Safety Program and Case Management.

All services provided by the YWRC are free, confidential, and non-judgemental.

History:
The challenges and opportunities facing young women today are vastly different than they were a generation ago, and differ from those facing young men. At Young Women's Resource Center we focus specifically on those differences in order to help young women of Central Iowa address their changing needs. YWRC collaborates with local area schools and other organizations to serve more than 2,000 young women of Central Iowa each year.
