Agency Details:
Sacajawea Elementary PTA
At Sacajawea we believe that every child is a unique individual. Our vision of "Educating for Human Greatness: Developing children as great human beings who will be valuable contributors to society" guides all that we do and believe in.
Description:
Our vision at Sacajawea is to see that each child develops as a great human being who is a valuable contributor to society. To do this, we are integrating the three components of human greatness in our teaching. These components are: identity, interaction and inquiry. Identity includes individual intelligence, talents and gifts, confidence and self-esteem, honesty, character, spirituality and physical fitness. Interaction includes love, compassion, respect, empathy, communication, cooperation and responsible citizenship. Inquiry includes passion for learning, as well as the ability to acquire, process and use information to gain knowledge, create understanding and solve problems. These three components are woven into the daily fabric of Sacajawea - from the classroom to the playground, to the home. Attitudes That Promote Human Greatness include: I am a valuable and important person; Learning is a joyous activity; I am responsible for my own learning and behavior; Every person is gifted and talented; Satisfying accomplishment is the result of personal effort; and Cooperation with others is beneficial to everyone involved.
