The Mercy Volunteers began serving St. Joe's on April 23, 1929. The primary role was to assist the hospital with fund raising efforts. The early 1960's saw a change in focus, transitioning from fund raising to providing comfort and assistance to patients and associates throughout the hospital. Our Mercy Volunteers exemplify the spirit and values of Catherine McCauley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy who's life was dedicated to caring for all with compassion and dignity.
