Positive Action Against Chemical Addiction, Inc
PAACA is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of substance abuse in the South coast region. Our goal is to work with individuals and families effected by substance abuse in an effort to help them find the road to recovery and prevent the onset of substance abuse in young people.
Description:
PAACA has been providing quality services for the recovery community since 1983. These services are provided without regard to income because most of our services are offered free of charge. We provide treatment services such as counseling, case management and therapy groups. We provide wellness services for people living with HIV and HepC. We also provide youth services at our teen center at 890B Brock Avenue. Lastly we provide supportive services such as Food and Clothing, Employment, Housing and Transportation Programs.
History:
PAACA is a consumer driven organization that utilizes many volunteers. With humble beginnings at our first location on Acushnet Avenue in 1983 the agency moved from there to Spring Street to the current location at 360 Coggeshall Street in 1987. The agency is often referred to as the MASH unit in the war on drugs.
