Tabor House

Tabor House is a small non-profit agency, which provides a loving housing environment, education and social service support to men and women living with HIV/AIDS, who would otherwise be homeless.

Description:
Tabor House provides housing to any man or woman with HIV/AIDS based on the availability of beds. In addition to providing a safe, healthy home for residents we also provide the necessary support for residents to lead the highest quality of life possible. These supportive services include, domestic violence counseling, mental health support,substance abuse counseling, independent living and vocational skills training and educational and recreational enhancement services.

History:
Tabor House was started in 1991 by Sister Laura Herold, who died in December 2007. The need for housing for people with HIV/AIDS was stunning and the success of the house was immediate. In 1997 Tabor House acquired another residence, which was set up for women with HIV/AIDS. Both houses are at full capacity 99% of the time due to the increased need for housing for people with HIV/AIDS.
