SOAR 55 mobilizes adults, age 55 and over, to contribute their skills and experience in meaningful service activities that help strengthen and expand the capacity of local community service organizations.
Description:
With many local nonprofit and public Partners, SOAR 55 offers a professional, personal and thoughtful approach to placing individuals in meaningful skills-based volunteer assignments in Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Newton, Wayland, Wellesley and Weston, MA
History:
For over 35 years, SOAR 55 has matched older adults to volunteer opportunities in their communities. SOAR 55 is part of RSVP and the Corporation for National & Community Service, the federal volunteer agency that oversees over 750 RSVP projects across the country. RSVPs are mandated to create meaningful service opportunities for adults age 55 plus that help solve community problems.
