Ballet Fantastique provides unique, community-centered, world-class training and performance programs in vibrant classical ballet to young people of all backgrounds and means. Ballet Fantastique is dedicated to offering scholarships to young artists, training and coaching of the highest artistic caliber to young dancers, performance opportunities to young professionals, and free tickets to young audiences.

As our area's first non-profit ballet academy and only chamber ballet company, Ballet Fantastique is dedicated to offering scholarships to young artists, training and coaching of the highest artistic caliber to young dancers, performance opportunities to young professionals, and free tickets to young audiences. As an elite ensemble of soloists dedicated to building Eugene's reputation for world-class performing art, Ballet Fantastique is also uniquely qualified to build performance partnerships with our area's nationally-renowned musicians.
Future goals for Ballet Fantastique include:

1. Build the Ballet Fantastique scholarship program to support 3 additional dancers. Support professional chamber ballet artists through pointe shoe reimbursement and a performance stipend.
2. Move the EXPERIENCE DANCE! PROJECT to the integral next level, not only introducing children to dance, but also building relationships between them and the arts through extended year-long partnerships with two county public schools.
3. Continue to support area artists (and aspiring dancers) through coaching, training, and performance programs of the highest quality. Continue to produce innovative concerts that work with local musicians, make classical dance accessible and relevant to non-traditional theatergoers, and to inspire existing arts-appreciators through vibrant and virtuosic performance artistry.



History:
Since 2000, the Ballet Fantastique Academy's programs have included unique children's classes, elite pre-professional coaching, and scholarships for underprivileged youth. Our Chamber Ensemble's programs include the new and innovative EXPERIENCE DANCE! PROJECT, which brings classical ballet of the highest artistic caliber in interactive formats to young and non-traditional audiences, sparkling professional concerts and collaborations, and the county's only Professional Dancer Development Program, which provides opportunities and incentives for talented and dedicated young professionals to grow and contribute to the arts in our area. Past achievements include:


1. Providing 600 free tickets to young people in the Northwest for two Ballet Fantastique concerts; and providing up to $2,000 in scholarship support to underprivileged young dancers.
2. Providing close to 1,000 county elementary and middle school students the opportunity to EXPERIENCE DANCE!--many of them for the first time--through an interactive assembly and performance demonstration offered free of charge to the schools.
3. Asserting the presence of the arts in our city through several innovative, critically-acclaimed collaborations to near sold-out audiences in new and established venues for dance.
