Kadima
Kadima is a mental health agency whose mission is to provide psychological services, residential and counseling services to adults with mental illness. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for men and women who struggle with mental illness. We strive to educate our community about the realities of mental illness and to erase the stigma attached to it. Our vision is to see all of our clients live active and productive lives in a community that embraces them without prejudice.
Description:
Kadima is meeting the need for housing and services for men and women with psychiatric disabilities by operating 24 residential facilities and by providing a safe and nurturing home environment for all our residential clients. Kadima clients receive the services he/she needs according to an individual plan of service. Some of the services Kadima provides include: individual, group and family counseling, in-home support services to monitor daily living skills, case management, advocacy, supported employment and socialization activities. Our activity center, located in the lower level of our Kadima Center building, offers clients an opportunity to socialize, participate in a variety of activities and workshops Monday through Friday and every other Sunday.
History:
Twenty-five years ago a group of concerned citizens saw the need for quality housing and services for men and women with psychiatric disabilities. With perseverance and dedication they were able to open a home located in Southfield for 6 clients and provided them a full range of services. Today Kadima provides services to over 200 adults ages 18 and up, many of whom live in Kadima's 24 homes. We continue to provide quality services by trained and caring professional staff in a nurturing environment.
