The Haas-Lilienthal House
We are a nonprofit agency dedicated to preserving the San Francisco's architectural legacy and to educating the public about the city's built environment. Our offices are located in the 1886 Haas-Lilienthal House, SF's only Queen Anne Victorian house museum open to the public, which offers docent-led tours 3 days a week, as well as neighborhood walking tours.
History:
Founded in 1971 in response to the destruction of homes in the Western Addition, SF Architectural Heritage grew out of a desire to keep historic buildings a viable and vital part of San Francisco's streetscape, providing a context for future generations. Older buildings can often be creatively re-used in a way that serves both history and current needs.
