Quan Yin Healing Arts Center
Quan Yin Healing Arts Center is committed to providing high quality, affordable Chinese Medicine services to the Bay Area Community, and believes that healthcare is a basic human right.
Description:
We are an acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine community clinic. We provide therapeutic massage and have classes in yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation. Specialties include women's health, HIV, Hepatitis C, cancer support, prostate health, stroke, and brain injury. Clinical Assistant Volunteers at Quan Yin Healing Arts Center work directly with the acupuncturists in the treatment room. Volunteers provide light massage to patients after their treatment. This is an excellent opportunity for students of acupressure and/or massage, and for those considering a return to school. Practice your massage skills, and learn more about Traditional Chinese Medicine in a nonprofit public health setting. Quan Yin also has Admin Assistant and Special Events positions open. These volunteers work directly with the Admin Staff, and the Event Coordinator on special projects, seminars, and general office duties.
History:
Quan Yin Healing Arts Center was founded in the early 1980s. In 1984 we were the first clinic to offer full service Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat HIV positive populations, and in 1989 we offered the first comprehensive approaches for the those affected by the Hepatitis C Virus.
