The Maddie James Foundation was established to help Collie and Kajsa James, Maddie's parents, memorialize their daughter. They have a goal of raising 1 million dollars to help the Ocean Institute of Dan Point build their new Seaside Learning Center, which, with the 1 million dollar donation, will be named The Maddie James Seaside Learning Center.To be built right “on the water”, the planned Seaside Learning Center will introduce thousands of K-12 students and public visitors to current and emerging issues in oceanography, environmental science and maritime history.
