Eagles' Wings Retreat Center
| Last updated on June 20, 2011 |
Eagles' Wings provides a place for quiet reflection and spiritual nourishment through offering individual and group retreats, workshops, days of healing and prayer.
Description:
Eagles' Wings currently has two locations, just a few minutes from one another. At our office location, we offer Christian counseling and spiritual direction. Our retreat location is a newly renovated three bedroom home on 8 acres of farmland. We offer Ignatian Retreats both for individuals and small groups, day retreats and healing workshops for up to 20 people. We offer a Healing Mass once a month and SWAP(Soaking With A Purpose) prayer meetings twice a month. Most recently have added ministry days for children ages 8 and up. Volunteers staff Eagles' Wings and include a professional counselor and lay ministry counselor both of which are trained in Ignatian Spirituality. A retired priest is also a part of the ministry of Eagles' Wings.
History:
Eagles' Wings has served the community since 1992 originally under the name, "Ephphatha! At the Dwelling Place." In 2001 property was purchased for our first retreat house in Donahue,IA. The ministry name changed to Eagles' Wings at that time. In 2009 we sold the Donahue property and purchased the current property in Davenport, just 5 minutes from the office location in southwest Davenport where we have been since 1992. The ministry continues to grow in our new location.
