IBIS Chamber Music Society
| Last updated on September 9, 2011 |
The IBIS Chamber Music Society is an Arlington-based non-profit organization that performs chamber music concerts and an annual concert for children in various Arlington neighborhoods. IBIS concerts are primarily free, with certain special ticketed events throughout the season.
Description:
IBIS performers are members of the Kennedy Center, National Symphony and Boston Pops orchestras. Our emphasis on excellent musicianship, innovative programming and friendly, informal presentation makes our programs appealing to music lovers, musical neophytes and older children. Our free concerts make great music, performed in intimate venues, accessible to all.
History:
IBIS was originally founded in Florida by violinist Joseph Scheer and harpist Susan Robinson. Now residents of Arlington, IBIS is in its 3rd season of great music making in Arlington and around D.C.
