Description:
MacMedia's goal is to provide free or low cost video communication options for nonprofit agencies and community members. Production services are available for the professional creation of a video, or clients can take classes to learn to use equipment which is available for them to production their own message. Through community access MacTV all community members have the opportunity of distributing their message via cable television in the City of Holland. MacMedia also has the resources through which message distribution can be done online. For those who do not have a computer to access online information, MacMedia has a computer refurbishing program which accepts donations of used equipment, erases hard drives and loads legal operating system and software. These machines are available for a low cost share, to nonprofit agencies and their clients.
History:
MacMedia was established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 1996 under the name MacNet, the first internet provider in the City of Holland. In 2000 the name was changed to MacMedia to better reflect the added services of community access television, video production, training, and computer refurbishing.
