The mission of the Youth Leadership Alliance is to provide an training opportunity for youth ages 13-18 who are interested in becoming a leader in their community and serving as a voice on certain issues.
Description:
The Wake County 4-H Youth Development Department in conjunction with the John Rex Foundation is currently offering youth between the ages of 13-18 and living in the City of Raleigh the opportunity to be trained as a leader. After the completing the Youth Leadership Institute, the youth leaders will meet monthly to plan, discuss and community activities addressing issues and concern within their community. All youth will be apart of Youth Leadership Teams and function under the guidance of adult volunteers. The role of the adult volunteer will be to be to facilitate the monthly meetings, attend activities and help the youth develop as leaders. We are looking for 36 adults who are willing to serve in this capacity.
History:
4-H has been in existence for 100 years and the Youth Leadership Alliance was started in 2008.
