Description:
The Quad City Botanical Center is a private, not-for-profit organization that strives to foster an appreciation of our natural world through educational programs, display gardens, and special events. Thousands of individuals visit the Center each year for school field trips, adult group tours, and family workshops. In order to provide the best possible experience for these visitors, we rely on dedicated and talented volunteers.
Each season brings a change in the garden scenery - thousands of colorful flowers in the summer, rainbows of hardy mums in the fall, tropical blooms and twinkling lights in the winter. The "Sprout House" greenhouse is utilized for educational programming and plant care all year. Thousands of school children enjoy learning about the important role plants play in our lives during hands-on, guided study tours to our garden.

Throughout the year a wide variety of special events are offered to further enhance learning about the world as a global garden. Changing art exhibitions by artists of national acclaim are offered in our lobby and gardens. The Window Box Gift Shop offers a superb selection of garden-inspired merchandise. There is something for every garden enthusiast at the Quad City Botanical Center!

History:
Built next to the Mississippi River in downtown Rock Island, Illinois, the Quad City Botanical Center offers beautiful gardens in all seasons! This gardener's dream destination opened on June 20, 1998. It offers a 6,444 square foot tropical Sun Garden conservatory, the outdoor Scott County Regional Authority Conifer and Perennial Gardens, a beautiful Butterfly Garden, a colorful Physically Challenged Garden, and a Children's Scrambled Alphabet Garden.
