Macculloch Hall Historical Museum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller families and the Morris area community, and the legacy of its founder W. Parsons Todd, through its historic site collections, exhibits, educational and cultural programs. The Museum is a not-for-profit educational affiliate of the W. Parsons Todd Foundation.

Description:
Macculloch Hall is an 1810 Federal-style mansion located in Morristown’s historic district. Five generations of the Macculloch family and their descendants occupied “the Old House” before W. Parsons Todd purchased it in 1947 for the purposes of establishing a museum. Today, the site features ten period rooms, four exhibit galleries and the oldest gardens in Morris County. The Museum’s collection includes W. Parsons Todd’s legacy of largely American and English fine and decorative arts, a Macculloch Family archive as well as some family furnishings, and the world’s largest collection of works by 19th century illustrator, Thomas Nast. Throughout the year, Macculloch Hall hosts a variety of educational and cultural programs. We have annual open-house events, lectures and gallery talks, educational programs for school-aged children, summer theater performances, holiday events, members’ receptions for exhibit openings, and a variety of specialized programs that help to promote Macculloch Hall and its mission. All of these programs rely heavily on volunteer support.
Macculloch Hall Historical Museum is owned and partially funded by the W. Parsons Todd Foundation. On behalf of the W. Parsons Todd Foundation, a Board of Trustees governs the operation and objectives of the Museum, while a professional museum staff is responsible for implementing, maintaining and developing the Museum’s collections and programs.
