The Jacksonville Center for the Arts is a community art center located in the beautiful town of Floyd, VA. The center showcases, facilitates, and educates in support of artistic endeavors, craft traditions, and creativity for all in our community and region.
Description:
As a non-profit arts facility, The Jacksonville Center (the Jax as it is affectionately known around here) is dedicated to providing an accessible, welcoming and engaging venue for all. The center relies heavily on volunteer support and recognizes the that without the support of our regional community, this fantastic facility would not exist.
We offers educational experiences in an array of mediums, including blacksmithing, pottery and glass, as well as book arts and papermaking, printmaking, and two-dimensional arts. Our Hayloft Gallery showcases the creativity of people in the community with new shows every two months. Artists work in our on-site studios, and sell their work in our handicraft gift shop. Our community room offers space for community and special events, conferences, and custom educational experiences.
