Commodity Supplemental Food Program - Concord
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides nutritious foods to families with new mothers, children up to their 6th birthday, and seniors 60 years of age and older.
Description:
CSFP is run by Community Action Program (CAP) of Belknap-Merrimack County, Inc. CAP offers numerous programs to meet the needs of a vast majority of people. Most programs within CAP provides services to clients in Merrimack and Belknap Counties, and a few programs service clients state-wide.
History:
CSFP has been around for 20+ years. We currently serve 2500 low income seniors a month, all living on a very low fixed income. The food we provide helps them out a great deal. This food is very important to many because their income is low and they don't have a lot left over to but healthy food with. Many would go hungry if they didn't receive Commodity Foods. The packing of this food is the opportunity that is available and is done solely by volunteers.
