Agency Details:
Rabbit Allies Of Connecticut
Rabbit Allies of Connecticut provides foster care, medical treatment and adoption placement for abandoned pet rabbits. Further, the organization offers ongoing education to rabbit owners and people considering the adoption of a house rabbit as a family pet.
Description:
Rabbit Allies of Connecticut relies solely on volunteers for funding and services. Services include providing appropriate foster care for house rabbits until they are adopted, making sure all rabbits in our care have been spayed or neutered, assisting in providing education to rabbit owners, checking phone messages twice daily, transporting rabbits to medical appointments or new home. We are currently in need of volunteers to check our voice mailbox and respond to inquiries one weekend a month. You can retrieve messages from any location (work from home?) and only need to do so twice a day. We also need volunteers to update, jazz-up our website and to help with fundraising projects. Please and thank you!
History:
This agency was founded by a woman in Norwalk and is supported by volunteers in Danbury, Wilton, Norwalk, New Britain and in and Westchester County. Education related to rabbit care is made available through public speaking, telephone conversations and emails.
