Transplants for Children assist young organ and tissue transplant recipients and their families in effectively coping with the emotional, financial and social challenges, which arise before, during and after transplantation.

Description:
Transplants for Children is a local non-profit organization which has been serving families in Bexar County, South Texas, and throughout Texas who have received or who are waiting for a transplant at San Antonio Area hospitals. We are committed to assisting transplant recipients and their families by providing the best possible support and services to families. We provide crisis funds, music therapy and offer support to parents, siblings, and pre/post transplant recipients.

History:
Transplants for Children was created in 1986 by Eric and Sharon Sutton in response to their young son's need for a liver transplant. Although they endured the tragedy of losing their son, the Suttons were inspired to honor his memory by creating an organization dedicated to assisting San Antonio families struggling with similar circumstances. Since its inception, TFC has assisted more than 700 children and their families in Bexar and the surrounding counties. Currently, the agency is actively engaged in the lives of more than 300 families who either need a transplant or who are adjusting to post-transplant situations.
