Some of the services we provide are new parent support, Spina Bifida education, resource library and referrals, quality of life and camp sponsorships, continuing education scholarships, folic acid prevention awareness events, annual conference and member activities.Including a young adult group known as (T.A.G)The Adult Group is a social network where people with disabilities ages 16 and up can interact with others in a safe and friendly environment.
History:
Incorporated in 1977, the organization was originally set up as an umbrella organization for other state chapters of the Spina Bifida Association. In January of 2000 the organization was restructured and the current leadership determined the focus would be on serving the needs of individuals with Spina Bifida in central and south Texas and specifically Bexar County and surrounding areas. In the subsequent 8 years we have grown and become a resource for these individuals and their caregivers. We have also become an advocate for folic acid awareness.
