Oakdale Neighbors is building a neighborhood of vitality and peace--a place where individuals and families work together for the common good. To achieve this vision Oakdale Neighbors discovers, develops, and connects skills and resources in the Oakdale neighborhood.

Description:
Oakdale Neighbors coordinates a variety of activities and programs including Mars-Bros Youth Mentoring, Tax Credits and Refunds, Advocacy, Job Search, BizNiz, Organizing and Action, Timebank Grand Rapids, Green Space, Boston Square Community Bikes, and Neighborhood and Business Planning. These activities are designed to help neighbors interact and support one another, creating the neighborhood they desire.

History:
Oakdale Neighbors is a Christian community development organization promoting the vitality of the Oakdale neighborhood in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The organization is a nonprofit corporation with federal 501(c)3 tax-exempt status. It is governed by an eight-member board of directors and has been active in the neighborhood since 1996. The organization values relationships with several churches, foundations, and other organizations.
