To provide quality educational and recreational athletic programs for the youth of Dalton/Whitfield County where participation, instruction, sportsmanship, and teamwork are achieved in a safe, enjoyable environment.

Description:
The Dalton Community Center is a City of Dalton facility located on the corner of Fredrick St. and M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. Presently our facility is being renovated. All program have been moved to Civic Dr. at the James Brown facility. Our goal is to provide a safe place for kids and adults to enjoy recreational activities and a meeting place for the community. History:
The Community Center was established in 1954 by a group of concerned citizens seeking recreational activity for the youth of the community. In 1968 the Community Center was added as part of Dalton Parks and Recreation. There are plans currently under way build a new facility, hopefully completed by the fall of 2010.
