Eagle of Hope is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization founded for the purpose of providing clean water to the needy. Eagle of Hope focuses on underprivileged women and children, in African villages, who travel 5-7 miles daily, in search of clean water. In many parts of African villages access to clean water is scarce, streams, rivers and shallow wells are the only source of water for cooking, washing and drinking. These people are suffering from not having enough water and also lack of safe water that causes sickness such as typhus, dysentery, cholera and also malaria from mosquitoes. Which most of the time results in death. According to World Health Organization (WHO) every 8 seconds a child will die from water related diseases. With your support to Eagle of Hope, these problems do not have to continue, most of these villages will have access to clean water that will help to reduce hunger, disease and poverty.
Description:
If your reading this now you must be fortune to have clean water and adequate sanitation, but in many villages in Africa people are not as fortune. About 5000 children die everyday in Africa from contaminated water, and almost 80% of the sickness comes from unsafe water. And average village woman makes less than $1 a day. With clean water we can reduce hunger, disease and poverty.
History:
Eagle of Hope was founded in 1999 when Mrs. Adlate Anyadike, a Maryland respiratory therapist, was troubled by the economic condition of the villages in Nigerian where she was originally born. And from that point she was determined to do something to help ease the suffering of the local residents. Her determination led to the first satellite telephone in the village powered by solar electric generator from the Sun, out of her own pocket. And also to alleviate the economical conditions in the villages by providing good clean water.
