Adult Loss Of Hearing Association, Inc.
Mission Statement: The mission of ALOHA shall be to establish a support system for individuals with acquired deafness and/or hearing loss and their families ensuring their participation in the mainstream of life.
Description:
The Adult Loss of Hearing Association (ALOHA) was founded in 1984 to meet the needs of people learning to cope with losing their hearing. We accomplish our mission by offering programs of weekly support group, monthly cochlear implant meetings, speech reading classes, sign language classes, hands-on demonstrations of assistive devices, a bi-monthly newsletter, and private peer support consults. ALOHA is open to the public and most services are free. We have served thousands of clients, and one and all are sincerely grateful for the information and help we provide them. Our current project is "Let's Loop Tucson!" and we encourage venues and businesses to install an amplifying loop so hard of hearing people can hear at lectures, meetings, sermons, plays, appointments, etc., and thereby be included in the mainstream of life.
